I remember your brother as the most well-behaved baby/toddler that I've ever known. I remember being totally floored when I was over for dinner once: He must have been about a year old. He did something like throw food on the floor, and your mom just told him to go sit in the corner. He just climbed out of his chair and did it! I had no idea a kid that young could be directed like that.

Come to think of it, maybe it's your mom's discipline skills that have me in awe. My 2-year-old always has to be *put* in time-out, which is hard with a baby or two in your arms. :)

Totally agree! What a great post. My mom and her brother are about the same years apart. She tells me stories about him all the time. So special!

Hello Stacy,

I'm thinking that, just as your little brother adores and admires you, so will your baby daughter adore her older brother. If he is anything like my ten year old boy he will love her to pieces and she will never forget that.

I'm so glad to have you in our Aspiring Writer's Club at MBC.

What a sweet post, Stacey. I really enjoyed reading this. It reminds me of the 16 years between me and my baby sister. Our lives in our family were completely different. You're right about the speed with which life seems to pass by. I'm glad to hear you not wishing it away.

Thanks! I'm excited about my new header! I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks about how time flies and wonders about my kids and what their relationships will be like as adults. It's interesting to think about for sure!

It is amazing how different perspectives are based on age. When we were kids it felt like years between Christmases and now October rolls around and I am panicking because Christmas is almost here again and I haven't done any shopping yet. Some of your kids may be closer than other at times because of their age, but as they become adults they will have such a wonderful support group and group of friends. Sharing your memories with your brother and them with their siblings is a great way to connect and a fun way to remember things that may have been forgotten. I love this post!
