My family seems to think the kitchen counters are actually a trash can. I think trash and dishes are like bunnies, leave them alone and they multiply. As one who has visited your house, I have to say you have a lovely home and I have never been horrified. In fact, the vast majority of the time I am impressed with how clean it is when you have six children to juggle on top of your housekeeping duties.
