The water definitely helped me get through a portion of my labor. And then it was 3 a.m. and I hadn’t slept and I had a cold and suddenly an epidural sounded mighty amazing!

I’d be so interested to see what you have to say about natural birth. I’ve done one with an epidural, one without. I don’t plan on doing any more at all, but I really do think I would go natural again. Recovery was easier (for me, at least).

I loved this piece, the water and the contractions, brought me back to many a false labor with my third. And I loved that you brought in your water breaking as well. I went natural with #3 and am so glad I had that experience, but however they get here, as long as everyone is healthy and safe, that’s the biggest thing.

Wow… this was so beautiful. I love how you remind us that a day that is seemingly ordinary can so easily turn into something that will always be remembered and treasured.

That being said.. I’m mom to 4 Pitocin-induced babies and I can see why anyone would want to try an alternative!
