This actually made me tear up a little. Her longing for those months of pregnancy, the frustration she has with her children, the self-admitted creepy factor…it was all so sad. And lonely.

I have to say, I laughed a little while reading this! I thought it was great. I enjoyed the fact that she knew what she was doing was wrong and just couldn’t help herself!

I’ve only had one weird belly touching incident and it was with this assistant to a periodontist when I needed a gum procedure when I was pregnant with maddie. She was obsessed with my belly and would touch it and talk about it for the first 10 minutes of every appt.

I never minded the belly touching. Weird, huh? But, I am driven mad by the people that want to kiss and hold the baby’s hands once they are here. Makes me insane!

This lady sounded very creepy. As if she could easily become so obsessed that she could possibly end up kidnapping a pregnant lady if she didn’t watch herself.

I guess I am intimidating enough that nobody ever wanted to touch my belly, but I’ve seen it happen to other people. It’s something that I would never even presume to do to others, so I definitely would be irritated by someone doing that to me.

You almost made this person sound like a predator of some sort, and that gave me the creeps! Great job!

This is great. I’m always shocked by how people feel free to touch total strangers. I love this line: “I’m already planning on how I’m going to take her by surprise so that I can get a hand on that belly of hers.”

God, there was something SO creepy about this. The stalker mentality, the moving in behind her to create the accidental bump. But most of all it was the whistling on the way to the car that really creeped me out. I seriously have always wondered what it is that people are thinking when they accost pregnant women in public. After reading this, I’m not sure I wanted to know!

Really well done. I mean ew, but awesome!

I loved getting inside of the head of the main character. Some people really are strange. I was left wondering if she was eccentric or disturbed, which added to the intrigue of the story for me. I also loved this line: “I sit and watch as some mohawk-headed teenage boys saunter past, all sulky. They remind me of mine.” I said this on another blog today, but it is so true, I love the tiny details that are so brief, but so important to letting us see a glimpse of the character’s personal life and feelings. Great spin on a strange situation anyone who has had a baby has been in.
